Well I finished one of the stories I was writing last night. It is fairly short, only three pages, but it the most I have actually written in a long while. I haven't been doing as much as I wanted to lately. Real Life has been rearing it's ugly head way too often.

School is a bitch. I am taking two Spanish courses for the first time in over four years. Let me tell you I am extremely rusty. And the commute is hell. I spend Nine hours out of my week on the road. May I tell you that sucks. I would much rather be reading or writing or something, anything other than that.

In addition to school I am trying to find a job. NOt easy in a recessed job market and I can only work certain hours which makes it harder. But I need money badly. I have other things coming up.

Like a move to Florida. I am moving to Florida sometime between the beginning of May and the middle of July. The state needs teachers crazily but I still have to apply and jump through all of their hoops to get temporary certification. Which means that I have to graduate. And the move to Florida isn't cheap. It will cost me $631 to rent a 15-foot van and that is cheaper than U-Haul's 800 or Allied's 1500. Not to mention that I am trying to find an apartment in addition to this. My roommate has two dogs that have to come with us which makes it more difficult. But I have found 6 potential places although who knows if we will get accepted. Neither of us has the greatest of credit.

On top of all of this, I am working Guest Relations Head for two cons. I know I can handle it and I know that I will be able to take off the time I need from school to attend them, but that just means that with the move that I am going to have to prepare extra hard and make sure I stay in contact with people when I do move so I don't fall off the face of the Earth like other GR heads have done.

And I am missing Katsucon right now and it makes me sad. I love Katsu, a lot. But I think that I won't be able to attend it any more. Not if I plan on staying with Ohayocon. I just won't be able to get off work.

There is so much going on here that I sometimes can't keep it all straight. The logistics of a 1000 mile move are insane. And on top of that I am trying to graduate and keep doing the things I love.

It is hard. I feel myself losing grip with reality sometimes. And I fear my priorities are slipping. Sometimes I don't even know what my priorities are.

This is going to be kinda Random. Just me reflecting really.

I hate mornings. I really do. I especially hate them right now when I have to make a 90 mile commute to go to classes. It sucks. I got up late this morning, so I was late to class. Not a great start may I tell you.

My drive is really fricking boring. At least it is during the day or at night. But at sunrise or sunset the sky becomes absolutely beautiful. There is this cherry or crabapple tree along the way that looks like a Bonsai. Absolutely gorgeous when it is silhouetted against the sky with the sun gleaming crimson behind it. Today I was treated to an extra sight on my trip home. As I drove into Down Town GR, there were literally thousands of birds flying around in unison. I was reminded of a school of fish they were that coordinated. They swooped and dove as one and for me one huge ball then separated into groups of over 200 individuals. It was quite amazing.

I was actually happy with the new Buffy episode overall. Although I really could do without the magic=drugs metaphors. This is not an after school special, people. But Spike was great! Tara was awesome! I hope they finally sign Amber Benson to become a regular. The Halfrek/Spike scene is generating tons of speculation. Woohoo. And I really enjoyed the Clem and Sophie moments.

********************************

Reread Mercedes Lackey's Diana Tregarde series. I still love her set-ups for the stories. But I think she ends things a little too quickly after the final conflict and leaves too many loose ends.

********************************

My dog is old. Maybe too old. She's turning 13 in May and is completely deaf, has cataracts and has arthritis. She also has survived one bout of leg cancer. But we are finding growths again. We made the decision tonight that we are not going to do anything heroic to save the dog. She's had a good life. But it still hard..

********************************

WTF!!!! It costs over 800 to rent a U-haul to move to Florida! Frigola!

********************************

Stupid Figure Skating Judges. I am glad their ass is finally getting racked over the coals. And the judging system should be changed.

End random thoughts that I had today

Growltiger! My e-mail server is down which presents me with a problem. My professors are supposed to e-mail me at that account if classes are cancelled etc. Also, all of my con contact info goes there so I am now dependent on reading things off of e-groups if I can and waiting until the server goes back up.

My question, why is it always the Student Mail server that goes down?

GGRRRRRRRR

I didn't go to class today even though school wasn't officially cancelled. I live over 90 miles away from school and to commute this morning would have taken me 3 hours when it normally only takes 1.5. The roads were so bad. Ice covered by a thin layer of snow.

I hate it. I hate the ice. It's caused me too many problems and scars.

Not to mention that it is the Super Bowl Weekend. And that weekend always reminds me of the Ice and the fact that it almost took my life.

So yeah, I am gald I didn't go to class and that my prof understood my reluctance to drive. But I still hate Ice.

It just downpoured for like all of 10 seconds and then stopped. Kinda neat if you weren't causght in it. I was though. On my way back from the library. :P

I am now thoroughly soaked.

I need to work on more homework. I have 2 lesson plans due next week on top of 2 exams and my classroom management plan. I hate Midterm season.

I'm being a good roommate.

I am fixing Jamie's computer. Her brother screwed it up royally. Not only did he leave her without an operating system, but he also screwed up his format of the the HD. The poor thing wasnt' even connected correctly.

The first attempt at at ghosting the computer didn't work, so now myself and the guy across the hall are going for the straight rebuild. Sigh. I hate having to do it that way. I am lazy ^_^

Ye gods above and below, I can't wait to get a vacation. I have been working and taking classes for over 12 weeks straight. I need a fricking break before school starts.

SO I am going to Otakon. I will see my friends there and hopefully meet some of my Online Friends as well. ^_^

All I know is that I am really looking forward to getting the hell out of Michigan for a while.

Today was order day at my University. Blech! For those of you who don't know what this is, it is the day that all of the people living in the Dorms have to have their rooms back to the way they were before school started. Which means that my carpet is gone and all of my pretty posters are off the walls. Sigh. We're back to x cement block rooms. It sucks.

I am in the middle of updating my webpage. I am really working on the Bebop page and my Vacation Travelogues. Hopefully I will have lots of pictures of NZ up on the site. I am also in the middle of Beta-reading a fanfic and writing one of my own.

Plus I have lots of homework to work on tonight.
