Snow Dogs

It snowed a lot.

My parents came over today to shovel my snow so that I am able to open my doors. The only door I could open is the one to my backyard so I kept that in mind in case of emergencies. Work was cancelled from 7pm 2/1/11 until 6:30am today 2/3. This is the first time they've closed for weather in the company's 7 year history. They've closed because of lack of power about 3 years ago (I still had to work) but never because of snow.

So you get pictures of my dogs and the snow.

These were taken on my brand new camera that was my giftmas present from [livejournal.com profile] bacondreamer. He's a good boyfriend... ^_^

Cut for lots of large pictures. )

What is this fluffy white stuff that is falling from the sky and spreading itself in a blanket across my yard and roof?

And why did the weather report fail to mention this when I checked yesterday?

Raking leaves today has now gone right out.

Republic of Tea's Comfort and Joy blend is really nummy.

I should probably take a nap and then write for a few hours. I managed to caption about 50 slides for my next update. I hate the random restart pictures because I have to figure out where the game crashes happened. So far I have a folder that has two fires that never happened because the computer crashed midway through taking pictures of them and then when I restarted the game they failed to occur. I also have at least one fight that never happened.

I think I will need to publish an album of stuff that never happened thanks to the Blue screen of death. I never had problems until I started picture taking.

On the plus side, yesterday I read two absolutely fabulous Naruto fanfics that just made my day. One had an amazingly interesting premise about why exactly the Kage Bunshin is a Forbidden Jutsu.

I love Spanish Guitar.

My house is slowly recovering from my fits of depression. The kitchen is now no longer a sea of dirty dishes and I have taken out the recycling.

Pazu loves curling up under my laptop and kneading my feet.

I cannot pimp StreamingSoundtracks.com enough.

I am debating if I want to put my tree up this year. I didn't last year because of bills. But this year is more stable, kinda. But I am still not sure if I want the hassle just for me.

I need to re-pot my aloe plant. It is now about 2 feet tall and 3 feet wide and tips its ceramic pot over unless I prop it up against a wall.

Homemade chicken fried rice is yummy.

I love my new windows.

I still can't get over that it is snowing big Hollywood flakes.

It is snowing out at the moment. Big fluffy flakes.

I doubt it is going to stick. But I would like to point out that 24 hours ago I was outside raking leaves in just a long sleeve shirt and the day before that it was 70 degrees.

Welcome to Michigan weather.

The sun came out today. It wasn't supposed to. But it did.

This is the one day that I really need it too. I've been standing by the window with my eyes closed just feeling the light and energy pour through.

It's been absolutely lovely today. The temperature outside reached 79 degrees. Definite summer weather.

The problem - it is March! It isn't supposed to be this warm. At least not right now. This is going down as one of the warmest winters on record (ignoring a few weeks in January & February). And people don't believe in global warming - I invite them to Michigan right now.

That being said, I am still going to sleep with my bed room window open and watch the thunderstorm come in from the west.

Ice

I didn't go to class today even though school wasn't officially cancelled. I live over 90 miles away from school and to commute this morning would have taken me 3 hours when it normally only takes 1.5. The roads were so bad. Ice covered by a thin layer of snow.

I hate it. I hate the ice. It's caused me too many problems and scars.

Not to mention that it is the Super Bowl Weekend. And that weekend always reminds me of the Ice and the fact that it almost took my life.

So yeah, I am gald I didn't go to class and that my prof understood my reluctance to drive. But I still hate Ice.

It just downpoured for like all of 10 seconds and then stopped. Kinda neat if you weren't causght in it. I was though. On my way back from the library. :P

I am now thoroughly soaked.

I need to work on more homework. I have 2 lesson plans due next week on top of 2 exams and my classroom management plan. I hate Midterm season.
